The room
A therapy chair and sofa, good natural light, and air-conditioning. It works well for one-on-one therapy and for couples.
Privacy
The room has double doors, so conversation doesn’t carry — not to the corridor, not to the kitchen, not to the rest of the building.
Where it is
231 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6PJ. The room is on the second floor. The entrance is a teal-coloured grille — buzz E1 Therapy on arrival.
Getting here
Shoreditch High Street station is around the corner, a 2-minute walk. Liverpool Street is 10 minutes on foot, Old Street 12. Several buses stop directly outside — the 26, 35, 47, 78, 135, 149 and 205 — with direct routes to Dalston, Hackney Wick, Edmonton Green, Clapham and London Bridge.
There is private bike parking, and showers with towels.
Accessibility
The room is on the second floor and there is no lift.
Working online
There is very fast wifi, on its own network, so you are not sharing it with the rest of the building. I have never had a problem with an online session on it. There is also a desk and an office chair — I use it as a writing space, and there is scope for you to do the same.
Facilities
There is a kitchen downstairs with a Smeg coffee machine, tea-making facilities and a fridge, and space for clients to wait if they arrive early. The building has gendered and universal toilets.
