FAQs

What happens in the first session?

The first session is when you get a feel for who I am and what it's like to be in the room with me. I'll ask you some questions about your life and what brought you to therapy. I'll listen to the answer. You can ask me whatever you like too. At the end of this session, you'll have a sense of what it's like to work with me and, crucially, if you want to carry on.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 50 minutes, once a week.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I mostly work in my room in Shoreditch but online is available too.

What is integrative psychotherapy?

It means I draw on a range of different approaches in our work. You're a person, after all, and you might not fit into a neat box. Integrative psychotherapy gives us some flexibility in how we work together.

What is a relational therapist?

I'm a relational therapist because I believe that relationships can be radically transformative, particularly yours and mine. As we deepen our work together, our relationship will change and that will be revealing, and perhaps even healing.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Honestly, at this stage you might not. But after a few sessions you'll get a feel for the process, and we can talk about what is and isn't working. Therapy isn't always comfortable, but we can work together to make sure it feels safe.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. What you share in sessions stays between us. You can read more in my privacy policy.

What if I want to stop?

We'd talk about it first. Endings are important. Let's do ours properly.

How do I know you're the right therapist for me?

You need a therapist you can talk to. Book a free consultation and talk to me and see how that feels. That feeling is your answer.
