Online LGBT-Friendly Therapy
A space to be seen, understood, and supported wherever you are.
Finding a therapist who truly understands what it means to live as part of the LGBT community can make all the difference. You might be looking for a place where you do not have to explain or defend who you are. Perhaps you want to explore issues around identity, relationships, or self-acceptance in a space that feels genuinely inclusive.
Working with an online LGBT-friendly therapist can offer that sense of safety and connection. It is a space to slow down, untangle the challenges you face, and begin to find greater ease with yourself.
What Is Online LGBT-Friendly Therapy?
An online LGBT-friendly therapist offers a space that recognises and respects the diverse experiences within the LGBT community. Therapy is not about labels or assumptions but about understanding your individual story.
Sessions take place via secure video call, allowing you to connect from your own environment, wherever you feel most at ease. This can be especially helpful if you prefer privacy or live in an area where affirming therapy is not easily available.
Together we can explore whatever brings you to therapy. This might include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, identity questions, coming out, gender transition, relationship difficulties or experiences of discrimination. You do not need to have a specific issue to begin. Sometimes, therapy simply offers space to reconnect with who you are.
Signs You Might Benefit from Therapy
You might be considering therapy with an online LGBT-friendly therapist if you are feeling isolated or misunderstood, or if certain experiences related to sexuality or gender identity feel difficult to talk about elsewhere.
You may notice that you:
Feel anxious about being fully yourself in certain environments
Experience shame, guilt, or internal conflict about your identity
Struggle with relationships, intimacy, or trust
Have faced rejection or discrimination and want space to process it
Feel disconnected from your sense of self or direction
Want to explore identity, belonging, or purpose in a supportive setting
Therapy provides a space where your experience can be met with compassion and curiosity rather than judgment.
How Online LGBT-Friendly Therapy Works
Therapy begins with creating a safe, confidential space online where you can speak openly. Many people find it easier to talk from home, where they can relax and reflect more freely.
In our sessions, we will explore what feels important to you. This might include understanding how past experiences shape your current patterns, how external pressures have affected your confidence, or how you relate to yourself and others.
As trust builds, we can begin to uncover the meanings behind your thoughts and feelings. Over time, therapy can help you develop greater self-acceptance and resilience, allowing you to live more fully and authentically.
My Expertise and Approach
I trained at the Minster Centre, one of the UK’s leading psychotherapy trainings. My work is integrative, meaning I draw on psychodynamic, humanistic and mindfulness-based approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you.
I have worked extensively with clients from the LGBT community, supporting people navigating questions of identity, coming out, relationships, trauma, and the ongoing impact of exclusion or prejudice.
My role is to offer a space that is inclusive, compassionate and attuned to you as a whole person. I do not see therapy as about fixing but about understanding – helping you to explore your experience at your own pace and discover what healing and acceptance can look like for you.
The Benefits of Online LGBT-Friendly Therapy
Therapy offers the opportunity to reconnect with yourself, to process difficult experiences, and to begin cultivating a kinder, more confident relationship with who you are. Over time, people often notice shifts such as:
Feeling more comfortable and grounded in their identity
Developing self-compassion and confidence
Healing from shame, rejection, or past trauma
Building healthier and more fulfilling relationships
Experiencing greater clarity, purpose and inner peace
Progress in therapy takes time and patience. What matters most is that it happens in a space of trust and understanding where you can explore and grow in your own way.

FAQs About Online LGBT-Friendly Therapy
What happens in therapy?
In our sessions, we will explore what brings you here and what feels most important for you right now. Therapy might involve understanding patterns in relationships, processing past experiences, or finding new ways to manage anxiety or low mood. The pace and focus are always guided by you.
Do I need to have a specific issue to start therapy?
No. You might simply want a space where you can speak openly as an LGBT person without fear of judgment. Some people come to therapy to explore identity, others to build confidence or navigate change. Whatever your reasons, therapy can help you make sense of what is happening.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person sessions?
Many people find that online therapy offers the same depth of connection as meeting face to face. It also provides flexibility and accessibility, particularly if you live outside London or prefer to work from home.
How long does therapy take?
There is no fixed length. Some people find a few months of therapy helps them gain clarity, while others choose to work longer term for deeper understanding and growth. We will review your needs together as therapy progresses.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
You are welcome to arrange an introductory session. It is an opportunity to meet, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to continue – simply an invitation to begin.
Do you offer in-person sessions too?
Yes. Alongside online work, I also see clients in person in Hackney, East London. Some people prefer to start online and move to in-person later, while others continue remotely. Both can be effective and meaningful ways to work.
